Grieving Awake: Everyone Teaches You What to do to Change Your Life. I Teach You What to do When Life Changes You.

Grieving Awake is a spiritual path through profound loss that helps you alchemize devastating pain into profound love.

Through this path, you awaken from the identities, beliefs, and defenses that keep you trapped in suffering, reconnect with your deeper intuitive nature, and become more available to the Love, wisdom, and guiding intelligence of Spirit.

Meet Joya

When my son Weston died on February 17, 2025, grief took me somewhere I could never have reached through intellect alone.

In the days and months that followed, I began having profound spiritual experiences that radically changed my consciousness and shattered what I thought I knew about life, death, and who we are.

I woke up to a Truth that has become the ground beneath everything I teach:

We are souls. Our work here is to wake up and remember.

Grieving Awake was born from what happened next.

I do not teach grief from the other side of it. I walk this path every day.

I don't believe every grief is something we "heal" or "get over." Some losses leave a rupture that remains part of us. But life can begin to grow around that rupture. We learn to carry what cannot be changed while becoming capable of holding more and more of the full human experience.

Grief and grace.
Sorrow and joy.
Longing and gratitude.
Anger and tenderness.
Death and an astonishing love of life.

This is what I mean by Grieving Awake.

My own grief also opened capacities in me that had been dormant. In my private sessions and Sunday Grief Tending gatherings, I work beyond words alone through sound, voice, drum, meditation, movement, gentle touch when appropriate, and intuitive guidance. I listen deeply for what wants to move, what wants to be expressed, and what wants to be remembered.

I don't ask grief to disappear.

I help give it somewhere to go.

Because beneath everything grief takes from us, there is something it cannot take.

And my deepest prayer is that through tending what hurts, we awaken to what remains: Love, soul, aliveness, and the truth that we were never as separate as we believed.
