What I love to speak about:

GRIEVING AWAKE

Grief as a Portal to Awakening & Consciousness Expansion

For: Grief and bereavement professionals, wellness and consciousness conferences, women’s events, spiritual communities, churches, and organizations navigating profound change

The Problem:
We live in a culture that treats grief as something to recover from and measures healing by how quickly we can get back to who we were. But profound loss doesn't simply hurt. It can dismantle identity, disrupt our assumptions about reality, and leave us trying to rebuild a version of ourselves that no longer exists. The harder we fight what has happened, the more suffering we can create around the pain we cannot change.

The Solution:
Drawing from 33 years of contemplative and healing practice, somatic work, neuroscience, and the death of her own son, Joya reframes grief as more than an experience to survive. It can become a portal into awakening. Through the framework of Grieving Awake, she shows audiences how to consciously participate in who they are becoming rather than desperately trying to get back to who they were.

What Attendees Learn:

  • Why profound loss can disrupt identity, perception, and our understanding of who we are

  • The difference between the unavoidable pain of loss and the “second grief” created by resistance, regret, blame, guilt, and rumination

  • How Presence, Radical Acceptance, Self-Kindness, and embodied practice can help us meet what cannot be changed

  • Why we cannot think our way through an experience the body is still carrying

  • How breath, sound, movement, and voice can create an embodied experience of presence and release

  • How grief can become a doorway into deeper self-trust, spiritual connection, and aliveness without ever pretending the loss itself was necessary or “worth it”

Outcome:
Attendees don't leave believing grief is something to conquer. They leave understanding how to meet it consciously — with practical tools for reducing unnecessary suffering, staying present to what hurts, and participating in the person they are becoming through what life has changed.

This isn't about getting back to normal. It's about discovering who you are now.

WAKE UP IN THE GAME

Awakening Is Realization. Liberation Is What You Do With It.

For: Consciousness and wellness conferences, women’s leadership events, spiritual communities, transformational events, retreats, and organizations navigating change

The Problem:
We can spend years learning why we are the way we are and still keep making the same choices. Awareness alone doesn't liberate us. Once we see the conditioning, wounds, beliefs, and patterns that have been unconsciously running our lives, the real question becomes: What are we going to do with what we can now see?

The Solution:
Joya introduces the Ten Modes of Consciousness — Presence, Radical Acceptance, Self-Kindness, Forgiveness, Truth, Faith, Trust, Surrender, Living as Light, and Giving as Light — as practical ways of consciously meeting whatever life puts in front of us. Rather than teaching people what to believe, she creates an experiential encounter with what it means to move from unconscious reaction into awareness, response-ability, choice, and embodied action.

What Attendees Learn:

  • Why awakening is realization, but liberation requires embodiment

  • How unconscious conditioning continues to create suffering even after we understand where it came from

  • How awareness creates the space between reaction and conscious choice

  • How to identify which Mode of Consciousness a difficult moment is asking them to practice

  • Why self-trust doesn't mean believing everything you feel, but developing the discernment to recognize what deserves your trust

  • How to turn what they intellectually understand into choices they actually live

Outcome:
Attendees leave understanding that liberation doesn't mean escaping the messiness of being human. It means becoming increasingly free from being unconsciously governed by it — with a practical framework for meeting real life with greater awareness, choice, self-trust, and response-ability.

Awake isn't the destination. It's where the game begins.

GNOWING

How to Trust What You Know When You Can't Prove It

For: Consciousness and wellness conferences, women’s leadership events, spiritual communities, transformational events, retreats, and audiences exploring intuition, self-trust, and human potential

The Problem:
We have been taught to trust what we can explain, prove, measure, and think our way through. Yet some of the most important decisions of our lives arrive first as a feeling, an inner nudge, an image, a bodily response, or a knowing we cannot immediately explain. The problem isn't that we don't have inner guidance. It's that most of us were never taught how to discern it from fear, conditioning, desire, and the stories of the mind.

The Solution:
Joya introduces Gnowing — what happens when knowing becomes embodied. Drawing from contemplative practice, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and her own mystical experiences, she explores how we can develop a relationship with our deeper inner intelligence without surrendering discernment or blindly believing everything we feel. Through an experiential process, audiences move beyond talking about intuition and actually practice listening beneath the noise.

What Attendees Learn:

  • The difference between intellectual knowing and embodied Gnowing

  • How to recognize the different signatures of intuition, fear, conditioning, and desire

  • Why self-trust doesn't mean believing every thought, feeling, or intuitive impression

  • How the body can become a source of information rather than something we override with the mind

  • Why uncertainty isn't the enemy of trust — it's the very condition that makes trust possible

  • How Presence, Truth, Faith, and Trust work together to strengthen discernment

  • How to move from inner recognition to congruent action without needing certainty about the outcome

Outcome:
Attendees leave with a new relationship to their own inner knowing — not as an infallible voice that must always be obeyed, but as an intelligence they can learn to recognize, question, discern, and trust.

They don't just hear a talk about intuition. They experience what it feels like to listen to themselves.

Knowing happens in the mind. Gnowing is what happens when truth becomes embodied.
